Job summary

Utz Quality Foods in Hanover, PA is hiring an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician for the weekend day shift (Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM). The role focuses on supporting automated conveyor systems and high-speed packaging equipment, with emphasis on troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years in industrial maintenance, experience with conveyors, PLCs, VFDs, and reading electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in industrial maintenance (electrical and mechanical).
• Experience with automated conveyor systems or warehouse technology.
• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record.
• Skilled in diagnosing sensors, relays, VFDs, and control panels.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing advanced conveyor belt systems and automated material handling equipment.
• Working with PLC systems, motor controls, DC/AC drives, and sensor-based automation.
• Installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical components like relays, motors, and panels.
• Performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and keep systems running.
• Reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with accuracy.
• Installing conduit, EMT, and sealtite to support upgrades and expansions.

This is a critical, full-time role supporting automated conveyor systems and high-speed packaging equipment, with a focus on troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance. This role has a required shift of Friday-Sunday 6:00AM- 6:00PM.

Responsibilities:

Troubleshooting and repairing advanced conveyor belt systemsandautomated material handling equipment

Working with PLC systems, motor controls, DC/AC drives, and sensor-based automation

Installing, wiring, and maintaining electrical components like relays, motors, and panels

Performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and keep things running smoothly

Reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with accuracy

Installing conduit, EMT, and sealtite independently to support system upgrades and expansions

Requirements:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in industrial maintenance (electrical and mechanical)

Experience working with automated conveyor systems or warehouse distribution technology

• Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record

Skilled in diagnosing issues with sensors, relays, VFDs, and control panels

Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs and working at heights up to 30 feet

Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail

Experience in food manufacturing or packaging is a plus
