Job Description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team, and are currently recruiting for anElectrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

Schedule: Monday to Friday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM.

As an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician this candidate will be primarily responsible for r esponsible to work independently installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining, all mechanical and electrical components of production and facility equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for manufacturing productivity and product quality via the maintenance department
• Troubleshoots and repairs manufacturing equipment (motor controls, DC/AC drives and controls, frying, temperature instrumentation, burner systems and controls, packaging machines, electronic scales, programmable logic controllers) etc.
• Responsible to repair various types of facility equipment (pumps, fans, air compressors, hydraulic equipment, HVAC) etc.
• Must be able to troubleshoot and repair PLC controlled equipment.
• Prepares, coordinates, and implements preventive maintenance.
• Completes installation and repair work from schematics and drawings.
• Capable of minor electrical installations.
• Responsible for quality and food safety tasks for their position.
• Responsible for ensuring food safety in all actions and responsibilities
  • Follows food safety practices and all applicable requirements of the SQF System
  • Follows instructions and training for reporting of food safety problems to appropriate personnel

Requirements

• Requires knowledge and skills in electrical, mechanical, and electronic applications acquired through 2+ years of experience or education.
• Mechanically inclined and able to calculate basic math and measurements.
• Able to read and work from blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Requires the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of equipment quickly and independently.
• Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Requires working at heights above ground level.
