Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Utilities Equipment Repairer to maintain and repair utilities equipment and support systems on and off the battlefield. You will service electric motors, inspect electrical equipment, repair gas engine systems, and keep air conditioning and related fuel/electrical systems in working order.

Training lasts 10 weeks of Basic Training and 13 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with pay during training and access to tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Enlistment in the Army National Guard is required.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet eligibility standards.
• Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair utilities equipment and special-purpose support systems.
• Inspect and repair electric motors and electrical equipment.
• Inspect and repair electric instruments; replace gaskets and seals in watertight equipment.
• Maintain and repair gasoline engine systems, air conditioner electrical systems, and portable heater systems.
