Electrical/Mechanical Engineer, Prime Air - Data for Autonomous Aircraft (DA2)

DA2 is seeking a versatile Engineering professional to join the Data for Autonomous Aircraft (DA2) Engineering team. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy electrical and electromechanical systems as part of on-vehicle solutions supporting data collection for Amazon's Drone delivery program, while providing cross-functional hardware support and system integration expertise.

Key job responsibilities
-Lead electrical and electromechanical system design for DA2 vehicles
-Perform hardware troubleshooting and system integration
-Validate electrical and mechanical systems on DA2 vehicles
-Collaborate and integrate with cross-functional teams including software, mechanical, system development engineers, maintenance, and operations
-Ensure compliance with DO-160 standards
-Create and maintain CAD models and documentation

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- Experience with design and testing of power electronics and electrical systems (up too 100V DC) in aerospace, automotive, or robotic systems
- Demonstrated ability in hardware troubleshooting and system integration
- Knowledge of RF (radio frequency) sufficient to support design, testing, and troubleshooting of conducted and radiated EMI (electromagnetic interference)
- Expertise with circuit design, simulation software, and one or more computer languages to support test, validation, and troubleshooting of electronic systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with PCB design and development, including schematic capture and layout
- Experience with autonomous systems, sensor integration, and embedded systems
- Experience in DO-160 testing and compliance
- Experience with mechanical assembly and integration
- Proficiency in CAD software for mechanical and electrical design
- Knowledge of version control systems and hardware development workflows
- Familiarity with drone electrical power distribution systems

The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.
