Job summary

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is seeking an Assembler for the 1st shift at our Arden, NC location. The role requires winding, assembly, wiring, and producing sub-assemblies and final assemblies of control equipment.

Highlights include reading drawings, preparing parts from stock, wire preparation, and handling material movement while following safety and quality standards. Overtime and physical movement are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Must reside within 50-mile radius of Avery Creek, NC.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds and perform ladder-related movement.
• Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.
• Proven history of safe work habits and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work overtime on weekdays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Works from drawings, engineering specifications, and manufacturing information to complete assembly and wiring of control equipment.
• Determines necessary parts and material and prepares requisition to obtain parts and material from stock.
• Prepares wire for assembly by cutting, stripping, and attaching terminals.
• Route out, assembles, wires, adjusts, fits and modifies parts, components, and sub-assemblies to form completed control assembly.
• May require lifting, bending, ladder work and other forms of movement.
• Checks electrical / mechanical performance of completed assemblies to ensure conformance to Asheville Plant quality standards and makes necessary adjustments and alignment when required.
• Executes engineering and customer changes and makes repairs as required.
• Reports irregularities or equipment malfunctions to coach.
• Maintains records as required.
• Observes safety and hygiene rules and maintains a neat work area.
• Operator of power tools, including battery powered and compressed air.
