Job summary

Hoffman Construction Co of America is seeking an Electrical Manager to lead all phases of electrical management within the MEP department. You will supervise preconstruction through turnover, coordinate with clients, design consultants, and trade partners, and ensure scheduling, cost control, and quality standards are met.

This onsite role in Childress, TX requires strong leadership, deep MEP knowledge, and proven ability to manage complex projects with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, electrical engineering or construction management required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of project management experience with a General Contractor.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary MEP teams on large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and QC best practices.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, design consultants, and trade partners.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multiple priorities in high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all phases of Electrical Management in construction, from preconstruction planning through turnover.
  • Interface between Hoffman, client, design consultants, and trade partners to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Manage preconstruction planning, procurement, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance.
  • Oversee subcontractor buyout, contract execution, and performance tracking; manage contracts and modifications.
  • Support business development by evaluating potential projects and interacting with developers, owners, and subcontractors.

Job description

The Electrical Manager will work within the MEP Department and will report to the MEP Manager. This role will oversee all phases of Electrical Management in construction, including preconstruction planning, procurement, scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, subcontractor coordination, and turnover. The Electrical Manager will serve as the primary interface between Hoffman, client, design consultants, and trade partners, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This position will be fully onsite at the project in Childress, TX.

Salary: $115,000 - $160,000 + Per Diem & incentives

Qualifications

  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and maintain team productivity in high-pressure project environments.
  • Provide clear direction, accountability, and performance expectations to project and department staff.
  • Effectively manage difficult conversations, performance issues, and personnel challenges with professionalism and respect.
  • Lead all phases of construction including preconstruction through closeout.
  • Drive overall project performance ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are achieved.
  • Coordinate closely with client representatives, design consultants, and trade partners to ensure alignment of deliverables and performance standards. Assist with development of estimate budget for projects.
  • Oversee subcontractor buyout, contract execution, and performance tracking.
  • Manage subcontractor contracts and contract modifications.
  • Business Development - evaluate potential projects and clients, and interact directly with developers, owners, architects, subconsultants and subcontractors.
  • Promote a transparent, solution-oriented environment through proactive communication and resolution of issues.
Position Related Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, lighting systems, grounding, and emergency power infrastructure.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Teams), and have a general understanding of working within a computer network.
  • Experience with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, and Navisworks.
  • Training in design and construction document reading, design specifications, survey theory and techniques.
  • Experience in reviewing electrical and low-voltage drawings, specifications, BIM models, and submittals for constructability and compliance.
  • Experience in field and personnel management.
  • Highly developed visual observation and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work well and maintain a cooperative attitude through high-pressure situations.
  • Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work while frequently interrupted by phone calls and questions on work in progress.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Ability to work closely with a variety of trade and craft people in a field work situation. Patience and professionalism are essential.
  • Must be a strong team player with the ability to collaborate with various personnel within and across departments and at all levels of leadership.
  • The work schedule must be flexible to allow extended hours or off-shift work to accommodate changing construction schedules and sequences.
Professional Experience and Education
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, construction management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
  • Education background in materials and methods of construction.
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary MEP teams on large-scale commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of Project Management experience with a General Contractor required.
  • Proven success managing large-scale construction projects through completion.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, commissioning processes, and QC best practices.
