POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

We’re looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our operations. This position is critical to maintaining electrical systems, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a safe, team-oriented work environment.

POSITION CHALLENGES:

• 12 hour shift
• 5-2-2-5 rotation night shift
• Ability to work in various areas of the plant that include adverse environmental conditions such as dirt, grease, hot, cold, and extreme heights
  
  

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs
• Occasional climbing, reaching, and lifting up to 35 lbs
• Minimal lifting up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work in environments with dirt, grease, heat, cold, and at heights
• Must meet physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation
  
  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of industrial electrician maintenance experience
• Strong knowledge of:
• AC/DC theory, power transmission, and test instruments
• VFDs, PLCs, ladder and relay logic
• Motor controls, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and electrical construction
• Ability to read schematics and equipment manuals
• Commitment to safety practices (e.g., lockout/tagout, fall protection)
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and aerial lifts
• Proficiency in math, communication, and computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, work order systems)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team environment
  

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Journeyman Certification, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience
• Experience in the steel industry
• Welding and light fabrication skills
• Familiarity with industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, Ethernet)
• Understanding of PID control loops and combustion systems
• Basic mechanical knowledge and safety awareness training
  
  

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial electrical equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, calibrations, and installations
• Analyze test results and machine diagnostics to identify and resolve issues
• Collaborate with Mechanical Maintenance Technicians to support plant operations
• Maintain accurate parts inventory and complete work orders using computer systems
• Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment
• Support Environmental, Quality, and Safety Management System procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
