Job summary

Electrical Automation Services in New Jersey is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to sustain and enhance electrical and control systems used in our food manufacturing operations. You will document systems, diagnose issues, and work alongside Mechanics and Electro-Mechanics across all shifts.

The role covers offsite support as needed, performing preventive and corrective maintenance on batching and process controls, networks, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and secondary utility systems.

Qualifications

• AS/AAS in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred or equivalent experience.
• High school or military training with practical experience in machine and electrical control systems.
• Familiarity with Rockwell, Siemens, and Mitsubishi software; preventive maintenance software preferred.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control system design docs.
• Knowledge of machine layout, P&ID, and basic troubleshooting for major vendors.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and unit conversions.
• Competent at completing maintenance work forms and keeping records.
• Proficient in reading work orders, manuals, and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current documentation for all electrical and control systems.
• Assist mechanics in diagnosing and resolving electrical or control issues.
• Train and coordinate Electro-Mechanics across shifts.
• Occasionally travel offsite to support equipment troubleshooting.
• Perform preventive, scheduled, or corrective maintenance on batching and process control systems including networks and drives.
• Maintain secondary systems: steam, water, air, electrical power, refrigeration, HVAC, emissions control.
• Keep accurate work records per work orders and backlog.
• Adhere to GMP, safety standards, and company procedures.
