Job description

The Electrical/Machine Systems (EMS) Maintenance Tech is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of machinery and electrical controls at the Tyler container manufacturing facility. This role also manages facility assets, including their upkeep, utilization, and tracking. The EMS Tech performs preventive maintenance (PM), schedules and monitors repairs by outside vendors, and orders critical spare parts and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all serviced equipment meets safety standards.
  • Perform critical maintenance on electro-hydraulic machinery, including robots, press brakes, shears, and CNC equipment.
  • Monitor electro/hydraulic assets within the facility, providing service and repairs as needed.
  • Understand asset lifecycle and replacement schedules.
  • Coordinate with operational leadership to schedule maintenance to prevent unscheduled downtime.
  • Maintain repair and cost history of assets and provide input on capital expenditures for repairs and replacements.

Skills Required

  • 5-10 years of maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of equipment such as break presses, plasma cutters, weld power units, shears, compressors, hydraulics, and robotics.
  • Proven experience with facilities maintenance, including electrical systems (3-phase), logic controllers, CNC, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Strong mathematical skills for data collection, measurement, organization, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, maintenance/PM software (e.g., MaintainX), and MS Office.
  • Meticulous attention to quality and detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with assertiveness in a team environment.
  • Proactive, methodical, and able to work independently to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work under stress and meet tight deadlines.
  • Formal education in Mechanical or Electrical Technology.
