Clearance Requirement

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; ability to obtain & maintain an HSPD-12 & Secret Clearance.

License/Certification Requirement

State Certified Journeyman’s License or VMET Certification required.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring that all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment within the facility are operating at peak efficiency through planned preventative maintenance, daily corrective work, and emergency response to emergent issues.
  • Acting as the expert technical resource reporting to a program manager, interacting with Onsite Engineering Operations (OEO) and any third‑party vendors, and serving as the singular focal point for all facility operations and support.
  • Maintaining mission‑critical servers with uptime better than 99.999%.
  • Rendering assistance in administration and regulation of the duties of junior technicians and providing oversight of contractors’ roles for electrical duties.
  • Analyzing system requirements, conducting research on equipment and procedures, and recommending modifications to new and existing systems.
  • Installing new units or replacement parts for existing units according to specifications and established safety guidelines, relying on MOPs, manufacturer’s literature, and industry best practices.
  • Utilizing safe working practices; applying lockout/tagout, MSDS, and good housekeeping methods.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying malfunctioning electronic units such as printed circuit boards, sensing mechanisms, and advanced electrical circuits.
  • Performing maintenance, installations, and service repairs on critical data center systems and all industrial electrical equipment and systems throughout the data center campus.
  • Using appropriate test equipment, including infrared scanning and vibration‑analyzing meters, to diagnose systems and equipment, and ensuring activities are logged in CMMS.
  • Performing daily walk‑throughs of the facility, documenting parameters such as power availability, temperature, humidity, and alarm status.
  • Monitoring and making necessary changes to the BAS, following site MOPs & SOPs.
  • Managing mechanical and electrical systems in emergencies, including HVAC components, power distribution equipment, generator systems, load transfer and control systems, UPS, DC power systems, and fire and life safety.
  • Identifying required materials and parts for maintenance and repair; preparing and presenting cost estimates for proposed installations or repairs.
  • Maintaining relationships with all major vendor accounts.
  • Coordinating all critical environment vendors during maintenance, emergency, and break/fix events to ensure personnel safety and keep power to the critical load.
  • Setting up and operating electrical data‑capturing devices such as Dranetz and Fluke PQA.
  • Creating and reviewing MOPs and SOPs to keep procedures up‑to‑date and safe.
  • Collecting and generating internal and vendor field service reports.
  • Developing reliability reports to identify areas for increased efficiency, resiliency, and reduced unplanned downtime.
  • Conducting training with junior technicians and other staff on electrical equipment and systems.

Abilities
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds, including loading, unloading, operating equipment, and transporting materials.
  • Ability to relocate a 12‑foot stepladder without assistance.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet, climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
  • Capability to walk, climb, lift, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, and reach overhead repetitively.
  • Good vision (corrected if needed) and color vision; ability to hear and communicate in English.
  • Ability to use a standard ladder within weight limits while carrying tools.
