Security Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizenship required; minimum secret clearance, with ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI with Poly security clearance.
License/Certification Requirement: Must hold a state-issued Journeyman License.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment operate at peak efficiency through planned preventive maintenance, corrective work, and emergency responses.
- Supervise junior technicians and oversee contractor roles for electrical duties.
- Analyze system requirements, research equipment, recommend modifications, and install units or parts following safety guidelines and industry best practices.
- Apply safe working practices, including lockout/tagout, MSDS, and good housekeeping.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and modify electronic units and electrical circuits.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on data center systems and electrical equipment, utilizing test equipment for diagnostics and logging activities in CMMS.
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to monitor parameters like power, temperature, and alarms, and adjust site BAS as needed.
- Manage mechanical and electrical systems during emergencies, including HVAC, power distribution, generators, UPS, and fire safety systems.
- Identify materials needed for repairs, prepare cost estimates, and coordinate procurement.
- Maintain vendor relationships and oversee vendor activities during maintenance and emergencies.
- Operate electrical data capturing devices and develop/uphold MOPs and SOPs.
- Compile reports on activities and develop reliability reports for system improvement.
- Train junior staff on electrical systems and safety practices.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, ensure safety compliance, and document activities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and respond to emergency repairs promptly.
- Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on electrical technologies and safety standards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 8+ years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly clearance.
- State-issued Journeyman License required.
Candidate Expectations
- Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and safety documents.
- Organize and schedule maintenance activities, understand building codes and regulations.
- Operate and inspect emergency power systems, use hand tools and test equipment, and troubleshoot advanced electrical circuits.
- Understand power density and HVAC capacities to ensure system availability.
