Job summary

Sukup Manufacturing Co. seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to support electrical maintenance and repair for our Sheffield, IA facility.

You will maintain production machinery, electrical systems, and controls to maximize uptime and performance. The ideal candidate has a trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field, 3+ years of manufacturing electrical maintenance, and strong knowledge of 3-phase systems, motor control, VFDs, and PLC/HMI

Qualifications

• Trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or related field.
• 3+ years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of 3-phase systems, motor control circuits, VFDs, and industrial automation (PLCs/HMIs).
• Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and electrical safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues in production equipment, including motors, drives, PLCs, relays, switches, and sensors.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on manufacturing systems to reduce unplanned downtime.
• Install and maintain industrial electrical systems including panels, wiring, and conduit in accordance with electrical codes.
• Support production by responding quickly to equipment failures or malfunctions.
• Use diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.) to identify electrical faults and recommend solutions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Work closely with mechanical and automation teams to resolve multi-disciplinary issues.
• Maintain detailed maintenance records and update CMMS systems with service history and repairs.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment or production lines.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and safety‑focused Electrical Maintenance Technician to support the electrical maintenance and repair needs of our manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production machinery, electrical systems, and controls to ensure optimal uptime and performance.

Preferred Skills

• Trade certification or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or related field.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and electrical systems.
