Job summary

Georgia-Pacific's particleboard facility in Diboll, Texas is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to support a 12-hour rotating shift across our production department. You will troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment, maintain PLCs and VFDs, and perform preventative maintenance to ensure equipment reliability.

The ideal candidate has experience with PLCs, a background in industrial electrical maintenance, and familiarity with multiple voltages.

Qualifications

• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs.
• Two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience using electrical test equipment such as multimeters and ammeters.
• Experience with different voltages (DC, 3-phase, medium voltage).

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits.
• Maintain, program, and troubleshoot PLCs and VFDs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, and related control systems.
• Read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics for installation and repair.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment.

Georgia-Pacific's Particleboard facility inDiboll, Texashas an incredible opportunity for anElectrical Maintenance Technician. In this role you will be expected to work on a 12-Hour Rotating Shift supporting our production department.

Our Electrical Maintenance Technicians are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical equipment within the mill to support the long-term quality and production goals of the organization. This position also performs preventative maintenance to ensure electrical equipment reliability. The idea candidate will have strong experience troubleshooting PLCs.

Shift Information: 12-Hour Rotating Shiftson a modified Dupont schedule. The rotating hours are from Days (7am-7pm) and Nights (7pm-7am). Employees in this position are required to work on holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled.

What You Will Do

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and circuits
• Maintain, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Maintain and troubleshoot circuits and components on pneumatic systems, control devices, and hydraulic equipment
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics to troubleshoot and install equipment
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical equipment

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics
• Experience troubleshooting PLCs
• Two (2) years of experience in industrial electrical maintenance
• Experience using industrial test equipment; digital multimeters, ammeters
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems
• Experience with different voltages (i.e. DC, 3 Phase, medium voltage)

What Will Put You Ahead

• Experience installing, examining, replacing, or repairing Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and motor controllers
• Experience with running conduit and installing electrical infrastructure to code
• Experience using Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) and Controls; identifying major components, wiring input/output cards, and reading basic ladder logic diagrams
