Job summary

Vallourec North America is seeking a Level II Maintenance Technician Electrical to perform complex electrical repairs on heavy industrial equipment in a steel pipe manufacturing setting. You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain electrical systems, interpret schematics, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

The role emphasizes safety, problem solving, and collaboration with the maintenance team to drive uptime and efficiency on the shop floor in Houston area facilities.

Qualifications

• DC equipment and controls knowledge, including batteries and DC distribution.
• Experience with single-/three-phase motors, transformers, and AC fundamentals.
• Proficient with electrical measuring tools for diagnostics.
• Experience with VFDs and PLCs; basic programming and diagnostics.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints; ladder logic basics.
• Strong safety mindset and independent problem solving in heavy industrial settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform intermediate electrical installations with limited supervision.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and document findings.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues with testing equipment and diagnostics.
• Perform basic VFD programming and support system optimization.
• Lead small tasks within larger projects and ensure safety procedures.
• Read schematics and apply them to field work; work independently on routine repairs.
