Job summary

Canam Steel Corporation in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Maintenance Technician with strong electrical experience. The role involves preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment and facility systems on the 1st shift, with a transition to the 3rd shift after training.

Starting schedule: 1st shift 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM, then 3rd shift 8:30 PM – 6:00 AM. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of mechanical experience in a manufacturing setting.
At least 1 year of welding and fabricating experience preferred.
Knowledge of overhead cranes, bearings, hydraulics, and drives.
Experience operating, troubleshooting, and repairing various types of production machinery.
Basic automotive/trailer maintenance knowledge.
Must have knowledge of lockout/tagout and proper PPE.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic mechanical systems.
Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment; assist with service of complex equipment.
Repair all electrical wiring and equipment (24–480 volts).
Perform scheduled and emergency repairs to production equipment during shifts.
Install and maintain production/facility equipment.
Maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to safety protocols.
Perform other duties as assigned and work overtime/weekends as needed.
