Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; associate/bachelor in mechanical engineering or industrial technology, or journeyman certification preferred.
  • 5–7 years in mechanical maintenance; 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency with CMMS and maintenance scheduling tools; knowledge of RCA/RCM.

Responsibilities

  • Lead electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation across kiln, mills, quarry and packing plants.
  • Direct supervision of plant electricians and instrumentation technicians.
  • Ensure NFPA 70E and MSHA safety standards; oversee LOTOTO procedures for high-voltage and automated equipment.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and calibrations to minimize downtime.

Alamo Cement Company, located in San Antonio, Texas has a very long and rich history.At the time when the cowboys roamed the West, a small Texas cement company laid a solid foundation for its existence. Started in January 1880, the original cement plant , known as San Antonio Portland Cement Company, was located at what is now called Brackenridge Park. In 1908, the cement plant relocated to North Central San Antonio.

In 1979, the San Antonio Portland Cement Company was renamed Alamo Cement Company, and today we are part of the Buzzi Unicem family of companies.Globally, Buzzi Unicem SpA operates in 14 countries and employs almost 10,000 people.From 1909 to the late 70's, many technological advances in cement production had taken place. Wanting to take advangate of these improvements, the Alamo Cement Company initiated the construction of a modern plant located in the Northeast area of San Antonio. The plant retained the name of Alamo Cement Company and became fully operational in 1981.

Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of electrical maintenance practices and industrial equipment systems

Education/Experience and Other Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial technology, or journeyman-level certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, including 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Proficiency with CMMS systems and maintenance scheduling tools required.
  • Strong knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), root cause analysis (RCA), and preventive maintenance programs

Responsibilities

The Electrical Supervisor leads the frontline execution of electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and installation activities to ensure uninterrupted power and control system functionality. This role is responsible for the direct supervision of plant electricians and instrumentation technicians, translating the Electrical Superintendent’s strategic plans into safe, daily tactical operations across the kiln, mills, quarry and shipping, and packing plants. The Electrical Supervisor ensures strict adherence to NFPA 70E (Arc Flash) and MSHA safety standards, specifically overseeing Lock-Out, Tag-Out, Try-Out (LOTOTO) procedures for high-voltage and automated equipment. By coordinating emergency repairs, overseeing the calibration of sensors and transmitters, and minimizing electrical downtime through high-quality workmanship, the Supervisor ensures the facility's complex electrical infrastructure remains reliable, efficient, and compliant.
