Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. in Hibbing, MN is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Planner to organize incoming work orders, develop work plans, and coordinate electrical activities at Hibbing Taconite.

You will build maintenance plans, document procedures, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E standards while collaborating with a team in a large mining and steel company.

Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electrical field or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry focused on the electrical area.
• Project experience, including installation and startup, is helpful.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.

Responsibilities

• Organize incoming work orders into defined, planned work packages.
• Participate in the weekly asset meeting in development of the electrical plan and schedule.
• Develop and document work procedures and scopes using Ellipse system.
• Identify, specify, and order required contract labor, parts, tooling, and equipment to complete the work plan according to NEC guidelines.
• Build parts and standard jobs resource library.
• Ensure safe work practices and NFPA 70E standards across all areas.
• Coordinate daily and weekly electrical maintenance plan with all affected parties.
• Develop short-range and long-range electrical maintenance plans and budgets.
• Ensure compliance and implementation of maintenance plans and budgets.
• Work with electrical supervisor to close work orders when completed.
• Update equipment history and tracking.

Job description

Location: Hibbing, MN Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opening for an Electrical Maintenance Planner at Hibbing Taconite in Hibbing, MN. As an Electrical Maintenance Planner, you will plan and coordinate all aspects of taking received work orders and developing work plans in assigned area. Also, would be responsible for documenting the required work procedures and budgets associated with all performed work plans.

Summary of Responsibilities

• Organize incoming work orders into defined, planned work packages.
• Participate in the weekly asset meeting in development of the electrical plan and schedule.
• Develop and document work procedures and scopes using Ellipse system.
• Identify, specify, and order required contract labor, parts, tooling, and equipment to complete the work plan according to current NEC guidelines.
• Build parts and standard jobs resource library.
• Ensure that all department work performed is done in a safe manner and that all work areas are maintained to meet or exceed all MSHA and NFPA 70E standards.
• Promotes and encourages teamwork and high-performance standards throughout the department.
• Ensures that the daily and weekly electrical maintenance plan is communicated and coordinated with all those affected.
• Develop short-range and/or long-range electrical maintenance plans and budgets.
• Ensures compliance and implementation of short and long-range electrical maintenance plans and budgets.
• Works with the electrical supervisor to ensure that all work orders are closed when completed.
• Updates equipment history and equipment component tracking.
• Works with the planners, supervisors, craftworkers/technicians, and reliability engineers to ensure equipment improvement activities are occurring.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• 2-year degree in electrical field or electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 3-5 years’ recent experience at a mining/mineral processing facility or heavy industry focused on the electrical area.
• Project experience, including installation and startup, is helpful.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills such as team building and conflict resolution are required.
• Willingness to promote team concepts and company policies.
• Ability to motivate, delegate, establish, and work in a collaborative environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Regular attendance is an essential requirement.
• Must be able to physically perform all these responsibilities safely: walk on uneven surfaces, climb equipment, operate pickup, and other small fleet vehicles, etc.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000.

An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location and business or organizational needs.
