Job summary

Bull Moose Tube in Sinton, TX is seeking an Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support plant reliability, safety, and continuous improvement. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery including mills, slitter, PLCs, motor controls, sensors, and electro/mechanical systems, plus perform preventive maintenance.

The role requires reading electrical blueprints, operating forklifts and overhead cranes, and collaborating with teams while working overtime and various shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to read shop signs and instructions and collaborate with team members.
• Basic mechanical skills including demonstrated knowledge of and proficiency in working on pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of and experience with PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, and the ability to troubleshoot the same.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, twist, bend, kneel, see, talk, hear
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently and on occasion lift or move 100 pounds.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Understands and reinforces the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Performs assigned tasks in a manner reflecting and achieving the Vision consistent with the Company's Core Values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, & Growth and Results.

Responsible for electrical/mechanical servicing and efficient maintenance of machinery and equipment, physical plant, utilities, and grounds. Utilize and operate equipment, material, and tools to inspect, diagnose and repair machinery, including mills, slitter, tool room equipment, PLC's, motor controls, sensors, limit switches and electro/mechanical systems, 3-phase 480vt equipment, and other facility needs as they arise. Responsible for support capacity of all plant functions, maintaining equipment in an operable, safe manner. Must comply with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance, and housekeeping standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Ability to read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages, and tape measure
2. Ability to perform required maintenance and repairs, including preventive maintenance
3. Ability to read electrical blueprints
4. Ability to drive a forklift and overhead cranes

1. Demonstrate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge and aptitude
2. Adhere to the Universal Safety Rules set forth by Bull Moose Tube
3. Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements and procedures
4. Complete knowledge of Company safety requirements and procedures
5. Able to work in an environment without climate control.
6. Able to work overtime and/or various shifts
7. Follow all applicable procedures and instructions including but not limited to preventative and routine maintenance, troubleshooting, process improvements, reporting of time and materials consumed as well as actively support business practices set forth by BMT, employees, contractors and other resources
8. Work with work groups and teams to support the sustainability and continuous improvements of BMT and stakeholders.
9. Performs all other duties as assigned and as reasonably expected of the position.

REQUIREMENTS:
