Duke Energy is seeking a Lead Engineer at Marshall Steam Station to act as the electrical system owner, lead complex engineering work, and guide other engineers with minimal supervision. This specialist role requires deep technical expertise and independent problem solving.
You will monitor system performance, direct testing and troubleshooting, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with operations, maintenance, and regional teams to address schedules, budgets, and equipment reliability.
The Lead Engineer is at the specialist level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve complex problems, manage work, and provide leadership to others in engineering areas of specialization, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for un-reviewed work. The Lead Engineer serves in lead roles providing guidance to others. They are also expected to have advanced skills and can work independently.
This position will support Marshall Steam Station as the Electrical System Owner.

Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility.
Must have obtained Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited program and PE
Minimum of 8 years of engineering experience Professional Engineer registration
A master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. Engineering degree.
