Job summary

SMT, Corp. in Sandy Hook, Connecticut, is seeking an Electrical Lab Technician for the 1st shift.

You will inspect electronic components, run electrical tests on fixtures designed by SMT Corp engineers, and help ensure quality and counterfeit detection for customer orders. The role emphasizes precise testing, adherence to MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-750 where applicable, and on-the-job training covering test equipment operations and basic failure analysis.

Qualifications

• High level of attention to detail and good eyesight.
• Manual dexterity and ability to follow repetitive testing standards.
• Experience in a manufacturing lab environment preferred.
• Ability to work in an ESD and FOD Lab controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow electrical testing work instructions as directed by SMT Corp engineers.
• Handling electronic components into and out of test fixtures.
• Observe the results of the electrical testing.
• Sort components based upon the testing outcome.
• Report to SMT Corp engineers when problems arise during testing.
