CoolSys is seeking a Journeyman – Electrical in Virginia Beach, VA to repair, maintain, and install electrical and EMS systems. You will read blueprints, determine layouts, test systems, and support installation, troubleshooting, and operation of EMS and related electrical setups.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and a Journeyman or Electrician license; 3+ years as an Electrician Apprentice preferred. Reliable driving and strong verbal/written communication are essential.

Responsibilities

The Journeyman – Electrical is responsible for repairing, maintaining, and installing electrical and Energy Management Systems (EMS), including associated controls and wiring. Determines electrical layouts, performs system testing, and supports the installation, troubleshooting, and operation of EMS and related electrical systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read blueprints, run conduit, and wires devices.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and code specifications for determining wiring layouts.
• Performs upgrades or preventive maintenance to electrical control systems.
• Runs tests, isolates problems, replaces damaged section of wiring, and layout circuit.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Training

• High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience and trade or technical school classes.
• License as a Journeyman or Electrician to meet state requirements.

Work Experience / Skills

• 3+ work experience as an Electrician Apprentice.
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Knowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.
• Skill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of commercial construction industry related products and tools.
• Skill in both verbal and written communication.
• Good driving record.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
• Ability to use typical business tools including E‑Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
