Job Summary:

Install, maintain, modify and repair all electrical systems and associated electrical equipment.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  • Remain in compliance with current Electric Code.
  • Inspect & test components of electrical systems, including transformers, transfer switches, and switch gears.
  • Manage the electrical permit process in the assigned area.
  • Build and maintain rapport with local city inspectors.
  • Clean driving record and the ability to drive a company vehicle.

  • Determining site installation needs/designs on the fly.
  • Troubleshooting problem-solving skills a must.
  • Solid communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Must have high energy, intuitive, ability to multi-task, strong follow-up skills, must work well with all levels of the organization.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience as an electrician; extensive experience in both commercial and residential work a plus.
  • Current journeyman electrician license.

Job Classification:

  • Field Operations: Construction – Electrical.
  • Exempt.

Work Environment/Hazards:

  • Working in outdoor elements such as cold, hot, precipitation and wind.
  • In proximity of heavy machinery and moving vehicles.
  • Moderate noise level.
  • Use of PPE.
  • Working in elevated places.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently moving, transporting, positioning objects of at least 60 pounds or more.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffoldings, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.
  • Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up roofs and vertical tower repeatedly.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position.
  • Frequently required to use hand and power tools.

Working Hours/Days:

  • Monday through Friday.
  • Min 40 hours, flexible hours.
  • Overtime as needed.

Travel Requirements:

  • 40-60% travel required, some out of state.
  • Some overnight will be required.
