Job summary

Crowder Construction Company in the United States seeks an Electrical Journeyman to interpret electrical drawings, plan installations, and install wiring in civil and industrial projects across multiple states.

You will work with a skilled craft workforce, follow safety protocols, and apply hand tools like conduit benders and meters. Travel may be required; we value reliability, precision, and collaboration in advancing critical infrastructure with proven craftsmanship and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Interpret electrical drawings, site plans, and blueprints
• Plan new or modified installations to meet codes and safety
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit
• Pull wiring and splice connections with proper safety
• Install control and distribution equipment and panels
• Test circuitry and ensure electrical systems function safely

  • May be expected to travel where the project requires (multi-state opportunities)

Primary function of an Electrical Journeyman: Interpret electrical drawings, including site plans, floor plans, and detail drawings.

Typical Duties include but are not limited to:

• Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• Prepare sketches showing locations of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, insuring that completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit, using such tools as saws, pipe threading machine, and conduit bender.
• Pull wiring through conduit assisted by a helper or craft.
• Splice wires by stripping insulation away from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment, using hand tools.
• Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
• Connect power cables to equipment such as electric motors, and installs grounding leads.
• Test continuity of circuitry of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery, and buzzer, and oscilloscope.
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• May supervise or repair faulty equipment or systems.

• Picture flat drawings as 3-dimensional objects
• May be required to hold license
