HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an Electrical Integration Engineer to troubleshoot, validate, and resolve complex hardware issues across vehicle compute, controls, networking, and sensor systems.

In this role, you'll triage hardware issues affecting the deployed fleet, lead root cause investigations, and develop lab-based methods to reproduce field failures. You'll partner with fleet support and hardware design teams to manage short-term containment actions and recommend long-term design improvements.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on electrical engineer with strong physical-layer debugging skills and experience solving ambiguous, cross-system hardware issues. You are analytical, collaborative, and comfortable working across fleet, laboratory, and engineering environments.

As An Electrical Integration Engineer, You'll
  • Triage electrical and hardware issues affecting deployed vehicles across compute, controls, networking, and sensor systems.
  • Analyze fleet logs, diagnostic data, and hardware behavior to distinguish electrical faults from software or configuration issues.
  • Lead root cause investigations and develop structured troubleshooting plans for complex, multi-subsystem failures.
  • Reproduce field issues in a laboratory environment by developing test methods, fixtures, and validation procedures.
  • Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, protocol analyzers, network traffic generators, and other diagnostic tools to evaluate system performance.
  • Partner with fleet support teams to track active issues, implement containment actions, and communicate investigation status.
  • Collaborate with hardware design, systems, software, and validation teams to develop long-term corrective actions and design improvements.
  • Validate proposed hardware fixes at the component, subsystem, and vehicle levels.
  • Document investigation findings, test results, root causes, and recommended corrective actions.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate testing, analyze fleet logs, and control laboratory equipment.
  • Identify recurring failure patterns and recommend improvements that increase fleet reliability and system performance.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a hardware engineer, test engineer, systems validation engineer, or in a related role
  • Strong experience with electrical and physical-layer debugging across multiple hardware subsystems
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience in at least two of the following areas: compute and processing hardware, vehicle controls and power systems, automotive networking, or sensor hardware
  • Experience diagnosing compute hardware issues involving thermal performance, power, storage, or processing systems
  • Familiarity with vehicle controls and power systems, including CAN bus, batteries, or voltage management
  • Familiarity with automotive Ethernet, network switches, link diagnostics, or related networking technologies
  • Experience supporting cameras, lidar, radar, thermal imaging, or similar sensor systems
  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, multimeters, network traffic generators, or similar diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to systematically triage field issues and distinguish hardware faults from software or configuration issues
  • Ability to investigate ambiguous, multi-subsystem problems and drive them toward root cause
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering and fleet operations teams
Bonus Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Precision Time Protocol, network synchronization, GMSL2, or high-performance computing technologies
  • Experience using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages to automate tests, analyze logs, or control laboratory equipment
  • Experience partnering with fleet support operations and hardware design teams
  • Exposure to embedded Linux systems, CAN or automotive networking, or NVMe and storage subsystems
Benefits
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
