Job summary

BleachTech LLC in Petersburg, VA is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our Maintenance & Reliability team. You will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and improve electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems across our chemical manufacturing facilities to keep operations safe and productive.

This role offers hands-on work with modern controls, ISO-compliant procedures, and opportunities to contribute to plant reliability.

Qualifications

• Must have bachelor’s degree in related field.
• 3–5 years in electrical/instrumentation maintenance in industrial setting.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and P&IDs.
• Experience with PLCs and industrial controls.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, configure, and maintain electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, PLC, and automation systems to minimize downtime.
• Calibrate instruments per ISO procedures and industry standards.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems.
• Test and inspect transformers, switchgear, and distribution equipment.
• Read electrical drawings and manufacturer documentation.
• Program and troubleshoot PLCs, ladder logic, and VFDs.
• Support planned plant shutdowns with maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure parts availability.
• Supervise contractors during maintenance when appropriate.
• Document maintenance activities using CMMS.
