Job summary

Elanco in Clinton, IN is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to maintain electrical equipment assets in Animal Health production. You will perform predictive maintenance, troubleshoot low and medium voltage electrical assets, and support electrical control systems across Operations and Utilities.

The role requires a HS diploma, industrial electric experience with MV/LV systems, ability to read schematics, and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Industrial experience with 13.2kV, 4160V, 480/277V, 208/120V systems and MV equipment.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical equipment assets in Animal Health production areas.
  • Perform predictive/preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical/instrumentation assets.
  • Process work orders in SAP EAM thoroughly and accurately.
  • Communicate with customers to set expectations and follow through.

Your Role: Electrical & Instrumentation Technician

The maintenance Electrical & Instrument Technician has the responsibility of maintaining electrical equipment assets in Animal Health production areas. This position will provide E&I support on all manufacturing and mechanical equipment within Operations and Utilities. This role will perform predictive/preventative maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting on both low voltage and medium voltage electrical and instrumentation assets.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Satisfy Work Requirements - Displays flexibility with work schedule to meet business needs. Maintains a good attendance record. Reasonable and flexible with breaks and lunches. Knowledgeable in the use and care of tools. Accountable for effective cross shift/functional communications. Processes work orders in SAP EAM thoroughly and accurately. Demonstrates teamwork and ownership continuously.
  • Communication - Seeks out and creates partnerships with operations. Communicates with customer prior to beginning work to understand and set customer expectations. Follows job through to completion including customer follow-up.
  • Operates in Compliance with Regulations - Fully integrates SOPs into daily operations. Identifies and initiates changes that are needed. Follows through and corrects discrepancies found in documentation, drawings, BOMs, etc.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
  • Education : High School Diploma or GED
  • Required Experience : Industrial experience with the following: 13.2kV distribution voltage, 4160V, 480/277V and 208/120V Utilization voltage, Transformers, MV Switches, MV Switchgear, MV Contactors, Relays, 4160V AC Motors, 480V, AC Motors, 600V DC Motors, Motor Control Centers, AC Variable Frequency Drives, DC Drives, PLC, Pressure Transmitters, Flow Control Devices, Temperature Transmitters, Actuated Valves, Variable Frequency Drives
  • Ability to read and red/line electrical schematics, ability to work independently and as a team member, and ability to prioritize multiple activities
  • Demonstrated technical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills, strong computer skills, excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and good interpersonal skills.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):
  • Qualified Electrical Worker certification per NFPA 70E
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in an Industrial Electrical Field of study

Craft level will be determined from experience and training.
