Job Description - Electrical & Instrumentation (E & I) Technician - SGS

We are seeking talented individuals for the role of Electrical & Instrumentation Technician at our Springerville, AZ power plant. The Springerville Generating Station operates four coal-fired units with a capacity of over 1600 MW. While three units will be retired by 2032, we continue to generate safe, clean, reliable power.

Position Description:

Install, test, calibrate, maintain, repair, and modify plant electrical, instrument, and control systems, following safety and procedural standards. Perform other duties as assigned, including those of lower classifications.

Responsibilities:

• Follow company policies and safety regulations.
• Understand and troubleshoot plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Perform system repairs and troubleshooting.
• Work independently or as part of a team, supervising lower classifications as needed.
• Maintain environmental awareness and safety standards.
• Work overtime as required.
• Support operational excellence and communicate company values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

• Must meet position requirements and demonstrate competency through testing.
• Experience with maintenance management systems.
• Qualified as a Maintenance Electrician II or equivalent, with certifications and training documentation.
• Ability to read drawings, perform math calculations, and operate calibration and testing equipment.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Completion of Electrical or Instrumentation Apprenticeship.
