Job summary

The City of Englewood seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Specialist to install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial electrical systems and process instrumentation. The role supports SCADA components, MCCs, VFDs, and power distribution up to 15kV, with on-call response as needed.

The position requires focused electrical safety knowledge, PLC/relay logic learning, and strong documentation practices. Local candidates with Colorado licensure are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• Apprenticeship or relevant electrical experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and OSHA electrical safety standards is desirable.
• Ability to learn PLC and control schematics and to read P&IDs and loop drawings.
• Valid Colorado driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, repair, and maintain electrical infrastructure, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, and distribution equipment up to 15kV.
• Support process instrumentation and SCADA-related components, including HMIs and networking.
• Respond to off-hour emergencies and assist with system upgrades and capital projects.
• Maintain accurate drawings, schematics, SOPs, and equipment history.
