Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for the safe, environmentally compliant, and efficient operation of the facility. The pay rate for this position is $39.69 per hour. The role is also eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee and eligible dependents.

Job Description

  1. Evaluate, maintain, and repair electrical equipment & controls, relay protection schemes, electrical monitoring equipment, pneumatic controls, valve operators and controls, ignition systems, various operating gauges, instruments, PLCs, and alarms.
  2. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair plant electronic, pneumatic systems, analyzers, facility computers, process control equipment, and instrumentation.
  3. Perform troubleshooting activities on all plant electrical equipment. Must be able to troubleshoot and diagnose problems in systems, read and interpret diagrams, protection schemes, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor manuals.
  4. Participate in major maintenance projects, including overhauls and replacement of major units and parts. Inspect and monitor work of third-party contractors during major repairs or installations.
  5. Be able to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work from elevated platforms, ladders, and walkways at heights of 80 feet or more, crawl through confined areas, and wear respirators properly.
  6. Maintain and repair low, medium, and high voltage equipment including breakers, switchgear, switchyards, motor control centers, motors, disconnects, transformers, lighting panels, UPS, batteries, chargers, inverters, and VFDs.

Qualifications

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Associates degree, technical certificate, or military training in instrument controls or related field is highly desired.
  3. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, control drawings, and manuals.
  4. Background in instrumentation, calibrating transmitters, actuators, PH probes, and working with PLCs.

Physical Requirements

  1. Must work on feet for extended hours and varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  2. Climb stairs, ladders, and work from elevated platforms and walkways at heights of 75 feet or more.
  3. Work outdoors in adverse weather, exposed to heat, cold, machinery, energized wires, noise, dust, grease, oil, and fumes.
  4. Carry, bend, stoop, push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  5. Wear personal protective equipment as required.
