Overview

The Electrical Instructor will develop and deliver practical, hands‑on instruction to students in the Electrical field. The position is based at the Advanced Technology Institute campus in Virginia Beach, VA (5700 Southern Blvd.).

Responsibilities

• Provide practical hands‑on instruction to create an engaging learning environment.
• Employ instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the learning experience and achieve learning outcomes.
• Evaluate student technical knowledge and performance using a variety of assessments and techniques.
• Participate in scheduled ATI activities.
• Stay current in subject matter through professional development.
• Perform all other duties assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Associate’s Degree in Electrical (or related) field preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent required.

5 or more years of recent work experience in the industry, or its equivalent.

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work with a variety of learning styles and skill levels.
• Strong time management skills and detail‑orientation.
• Working knowledge of computer applications and the ability to quickly learn new computer software.
• Experience with distance learning or learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
