Midwest Technical Institute in Springfield, IL is seeking an experienced Electrical Instructor to teach and mentor adult students preparing for careers in the electrical trade. You will deliver hands-on lab training and classroom instruction using an established curriculum.

Ideal candidates have strong industry experience, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to student success. This role offers a stable schedule with two shifts and opportunities to stay current with industry

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional electrical industry experience.
• Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, codes, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver classroom instruction and hands-on lab training using an established curriculum.
• Demonstrate industry best practices, safety standards, and electrical techniques.
• Evaluate student progress through assignments, practical assessments, and exams.
• Prepare students for industry certifications and entry-level employment.
• Maintain a positive, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Track student attendance, grades, and academic progress.
• Ensure lab equipment and materials are maintained and ready for instruction.
• Collaborate with academic leadership to support student success and continuous program improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and maintain applicable certifications.

Two Shifts Available: Monday–Thursday | 7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 2:00 PM-11:00 PM
