Job summary

Greenpoint Technologies is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to craft installation designs for aircraft interiors, including wiring, harnesses, and equipment placements. You will ensure fit, form, and function while meeting FAA requirements and project budgets.

The role collaborates with Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification teams to resolve build challenges and drive on-time delivery of complex interiors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Electrical, with minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Aviation background and aircraft interior experience preferred.
  • Experience adhering to budgets and project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Create electrical installation designs for aircraft interiors, including wire routing, harnesses, and equipment installations.
  • Prepare drawing lists of wire and electrical installations for project level STC.
  • Select materials for electrical installations based on requirements and specifications; evaluate trade-offs.
  • Ensure designs meet customer criteria, quality standards, and FAA requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, Certification) to resolve build issues.

Summary

Createselectricaldesignsolutions foraircraftinteriors,including wire routing,harnessesand equipment installations,ensuring Fit, Form andFunctionto meetcustomer criteria, quality standards, FAA requirements,budgetand project schedules using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Creates electrical installation design solutions foraircraftinterior, including wire routing, harnesses, andequipmentinstallationsusing Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools, ensuring Fit, Form and Function.
  • Creates a drawing list of assigned wireand / or electrical equipmentinstallationsfor project level STC.
  • Selectsmaterials forelectricalinstallationsbased onelectrical requirementsand materials specifications. Evaluatestrade-offs in materials, composites, coatings, and other selections to best meet designobjectives. Workswith materials suppliers and material testing when needed.
  • Ensureselectricaldesigns meet customer criteria, qualitystandardsand FAA requirements.
  • UnderstandsBills of Materials, assembly concepts, fabrication specifications.
  • Adheres to budget and project schedules.
  • Provides design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel.
  • Provides liaison engineering supportto resolve build and installationissues.
  • Interfaces with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification.
  • Maintainsregular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) inAerospace or Electrical, minimum of 5 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Aviation background andaircraftinterior experience preferred.

Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to checkelectricalengineering drawings for Fit, Form and Function.
  • StrongComputer Aided Drafting/Designskills usingAutoCADand/or Inventor.
  • Three dimensional(3D) design/drafting skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry design and documentation standards.
  • Proficientin installation drawings,harnessassembliesand the installation of electrical equipment.
  • Understands wirediagrams,schematics, system blockdiagramsand topologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently andcross-functionallyas part of an established and growing team.
  • Strong communicationand problem-solving skills.
  • Time-management and organizational skills.
  • Experience adheringto budget and project schedules.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionallyliftand/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to travel asrequired.
  • Ability to work outside of core business hours asrequired.

The expected WA salary range for this position is between $90,000.00 - $124,000.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
