Electrical Inspector - Part Time - Wixom/South Lyon, MI

We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Electrical Inspector to join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Perform field inspections during various stages of construction
Review plans and specifications for commercial, industrial, and residential projects to ensure compliance with city, state, and federal laws and regulations
Perform Rental Housing inspections in accordance with municipal ordinances and regulations
Report violations and maintain files/records
Perform other related duties as required

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
Extensive knowledge of local electrical building codes and current construction procedures and technology.
Interpretation of codes in the field and ability to provide code compliant solutions
Must possess the ability to positively interact with the other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental entities, and other clientele
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good time management, organization, and attention to detail skills
Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment
Skill in prioritizing and executing assignments with limited supervision. Skill in using independent judgment and discretion.
Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Michigan Electrical Inspector certification required
Additional state certifications are a plus
Experience in municipal code inspections preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
