What are we looking for?

Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection, Part-Time, Remote

Location: Mid-West U.S., preferably Omaha, Nebraska or Iowa region

Please note: This is a part-time direct hire position with a variable schedule. It suits someone who is flexible and does not hold another job. The role is remote, but applicants must reside in and be legally able to work in the U.S.

The Electrical Inspector - Lightning Protection performs field inspections of lightning protection systems on buildings and structures to ensure compliance with standards, prepares reports, and communicates with clients.

Salary & Benefits

The hourly rate ranges from $32 to $40, depending on experience and qualifications. As a part-time role, benefits are not included.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect lightning protection systems on buildings and structures per standards like LPI, NFPA, and UL.
  • Complete inspection reports.
  • Assess compliance with standards.
  • Coordinate with clients for site visits.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in construction or electrical trades, such as Installer, Technician, Electrician, Contractor, or Electrical Inspector.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and drawings.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and analyze data.
  • Adhere to safety protocols on active construction sites.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent customer communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule, up to 40+ hours/week.
  • Internet access.
  • Physical ability to stand, climb stairs/ladders, and lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75%, including air and overnight travel.
  • Valid driver’s license with a reliable driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
