Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company through WECTEC Staffing Services seeks an experienced Electrical Inspector II for a 1-year onsite assignment in Hobbs, NM. You will oversee EPC contractors, verify conformity with specs and codes, and manage electrical installation, testing and commissioning for a large solar + storage project.

You will lead safety and technical guidance, coordinate with construction managers, and ensure timely delivery with a focus on quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of electrical construction experience.
• 7+ years in electrical inspection, construction management, or electrical project oversight.
• Strong experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems.
• Experience in utility/industrial/renewable energy or large-scale construction.
• Utility-scale solar construction experience, especially electrical discipline.
• Familiarity with NEXTracker systems and solar tracking technology.
• Experience supporting inverter installation, testing, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and oversee electrical construction activities performed by EPC contractors.
• Verify compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, codes, and standards.
• Provide daily field oversight and inspection of electrical installations.
• Offer technical recommendations and guidance on electrical construction activities.
• Resolve installation issues to support quality and schedule goals.
• Review electrical work for accuracy, completion, and compliance.
• Inspect low- and medium-voltage systems and oversee field connections for solar panels and NEXTracker systems.
• Verify proper installation, wiring, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Maintain safety culture on the project site and ensure OSHA compliance.
• Collaborate with EPC contractors, construction managers, and stakeholders; participate in progress meetings.
