Job summary

SGS North America Inc. seeks an Experienced Electrical Inspector (Contract) to support a CCS project in Indiana, inspecting electrical, instrumentation, and controls work on-site.

The role requires NEC proficiency, field reporting, and strong vendor coordination, with work through startup and commissioning stages. The ideal candidate has a technical diploma or journeyman certification, industrial inspection experience, and familiarity with IC&E, instrumentation, and controls.

Qualifications

• Technical diploma or trade certification in Electrical/Mechanical fields.
• Inspections experience with industrial electrical systems.
• Proficiency in instrumentation, controls and electrical systems (IC&E).
• Experience with Rosemount instrumentation or Allen-Bradley controls is advantageous.
• Experience supporting equipment startup or commissioning.
• Prior owner-representative/third-party inspection experience.
• Experience on carbon capture, energy, industrial or similar construction projects.
• Strong NEC knowledge and reading drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect third-party contractors' electrical, instrumentation, and controls work.
• Monitor installation activities and verify compliance with drawings, specs, NEC.
• Review drawings and identify discrepancies, provide feedback to project team.
• Inspect electrical systems and related equipment at buildings and wellhead area.
• Apply IC&E knowledge when reviewing field installations and diagnosing issues.
• Coordinate with multiple vendors and startup/commissioning team.
• Document daily reports of progress, observations, deficiencies, and interactions.
• Provide practical feedback to resolve field issues and minimize delays.
• Maintain a consistent field presence through construction, startup and commissioning.
