Job summary

Summit Line Construction is seeking an Estimator for the Data Center Project in Santa Teresa, NM. The role involves preparing detailed cost estimates for electrical infrastructure construction, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors, aligned with company standards and client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, strong MS Office skills, and knowledge of industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review project plans and specifications to understand the scope of work.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Perform take-offs and cost analyses to support estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost databases.
• Prepare pre-approval project estimates based on drawings, narratives, and general scopes.
• Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narratives.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate estimates.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and client design discussions.
• Define division of responsibilities, draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations.
• Work with clients on questions post-bid submission.
• Assist project team with questions regarding construction and contractual requirements.
• Analyze historical data and project performance to improve future estimates.
• Develop weighting criteria for proposal evaluations.
• Review estimates with the operations team and executive team.
