Job summary

MANTECH seeks an Electrical In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) Technician to join our team at JEB Little Creek Virginia Beach, VA. This onsite role focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and testing of boat systems, ensuring compliance through surveys and validations.

You will read and apply technical drawings, support shipboard installations, and help manage lifecycle data while coordinating with crews and customers. An active Secret clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4+ years supporting DoD or Navy engineering, maintenance, or technical programs.
• Focused experience with electrical systems including navigation, communications, steering, propulsion controls, HVAC, and shore power interfaces.
• Significant experience reading, interpreting, and validating technical drawings, schematics, engineering change documentation, and system specifications.
• Extensive experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical or networked systems.
• Experience supporting shipboard installations, integration testing, and operational validation events.

Responsibilities

• Serving as a technical expert for troubleshooting, on-call assistance, system upgrades, maintenance, and repair of boat systems at waterfront craft locations.
• Conducting boat surveys, inspections, assessments, hands-on BOATALT and LAR system validations, and testing to verify system performance and compliance.
• Supporting configuration control over dozens of boats, updating technical documentation, supporting overhauls, and identifying replacements for obsolete parts.
• Tracking technical findings and lifecycle data while providing crew familiarization and sharing technical information with end-customers.
• Capturing redlined drawing updates, administering System Operability Verification Tests (SOVT), and completing boat checks.
• Recommending and implementing process improvements to enhance system availability, readiness, and long-term sustainment effectiveness.

• Serving as a technical expert for troubleshooting, on-call assistance, system upgrades, maintenance, and repair of boat systems at waterfront craft locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of progressively responsible experience supporting DoD or Navy engineering, maintenance, or technical programs.

• Focused experience with electrical systems including navigation, communications, steering, propulsion controls, HVAC, and shore power interfaces.

• Significant experience reading, interpreting, and validating technical drawings, schematics, engineering change documentation, and system specifications.

• Extensive experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical or networked systems.

• Experience supporting shipboard installations, integration testing, and operational validation events.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.

• Prior experience supporting U.S. Navy systems in a maintenance capacity, senior fleet sustainment role, or working for boat builders and private watercraft.

• Self‑starter with excellent people skills - able to work across teams, organize meetings/boards, and drive change throughout an organization.

Clearance Requirements:

• An active Secret clearance is required for this position.

Physical Requirements:

• You must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

• You will need to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.

• This role frequently communicates with co‑workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

• You must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
