Luminant Power LLC in Midlothian, Texas, is seeking an experienced electrical/IC maintenance professional to maintain and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems at a combined cycle facility. You will handle testing, calibration, and repair tasks, while coordinating with vendors and ensuring safe practices.
The role requires strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, DCS/POSS/MASS familiarity, and the ability to read schematics and generate accurate maintenance records.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to; maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment and participation as a member of a plant staff that is effective in operating and maintaining a combined cycle facility in a safe manner.
Understand the basic AC/DC circuit theory, power plant cycle theory, and mechanics.
Understand and able to execute maintenance in accordance with the plant workflow process. Giving directions to the operator in the field to support operation of the plant.
Required to have a telephone, may be required to be on call as needed, and will be required to work overtime as deemed necessary by plant management.
Capable of frequently standing; walking; sitting; climbing; stooping and crouching; kneeling; reaching; pushing; pulling; grasping; talking; lifting and hearing Capable of lifting objects with weight of up to 50 pounds. Worker will be exposed to temperatures greater than 100 degrees Fahrenheit; equipment noise greater than 85 dbl; and hazards such as high‑pressure steam lines.
All applicants must be a successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program in order to be considered a candidate for this position. POSS / MASS exams are administered on an as‑needed basis by Human Resources and all communication concerning the testing is sent to the candidate's email address provided during the application process. Worker must possess knowledge of High, Medium, and Low Voltage electrical systems, Proficiency in standard personal computer email, spreadsheet, and CMMS software is required. Post‑secondary education from a vocational or technical school is preferred. Vocation or technical degree with an electrical major (I&C minor) and 3 to 5 years work related experience or high school diploma and (5) years of experience in maintaining equipment in a power plant environment. Combined Cycle Plant experience preferred.
