Job summary

TIC_Craft is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled electricians and technicians in Abilene, TX. You will assist with interpreting drawings and preparing materials, ensuring safe and accurate installation of electrical components.

You will gain practical field experience, perform basic measurements, and learn to operate a range of hand and power tools while following safety protocols and supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with experience in the field or related area.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of hand tools, power tools and layout tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to interpret drawings, sketches, software, and plans to determine work procedures, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling and installing electrical conduit.
• Assist with installation of control and distribution apparatus and fasten in place.
• Assist with testing and startup of systems to ensure electrical compatibility and safety.
• Observe equipment to identify hazards and needed adjustments or replacements.
• Assist with pulling wire through conduit and connecting wiring to fixtures and equipment.
• Work with high and low voltage systems.
• Assist with disassembly and repair of defective electrical equipment or systems.
• Learn to operate electrical and mechanical hand tools, powered tools, hydraulic and pneumatic tools.
