Job summary

Heaviside Industries, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Harness Engineer to design wiring harnesses for small unmanned vehicles, from ground-up requirements to production.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, 1–3 years of hands-on harness design, and experience with Altium for PCB work. You will read schematics, route power, troubleshoot field issues, and contribute to production readiness with tests and documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years hands-on experience with vehicle wiring and harness design.
• Formula SAE or Baja experience.
• Designed at least one complete harness from blank page through build and debug.
• PCB design experience with Altium.
• Proficient with measurement tools: multimeter, oscilloscope, crimper, soldering iron.
• Self-starter who works autonomously and asks good questions early.
• U.S. Person as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.62).

Responsibilities

• Design wiring harnesses for small unmanned vehicles from requirements to production.
• Read harness schematics and sensor datasheets and route power safely.
• Troubleshoot vehicles on bench and in field for shorts, opens, and grounding issues.
• Root-cause sensor or motor problems end-to-end and isolate faults.
• Take harnesses from prototype to production with drawings, BOMs, and build instructions.
• Define and run harness acceptance tests and vehicle-level electrical checkout.
• Support builds on the floor and feed learnings back into design.
