Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group in Orlando is seeking an Electrical HW Test Engineer to join Product Development for MRI-compatible products. You will design, develop, and maintain test methods for mixed-signal PCA, battery operating systems, and high-speed interfaces.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform regulatory testing (ESD/EMI/EFT), BLE testing, and power/thermal analysis. Travel to Cleveland MR site for MR-related testing is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing mixed-signal PCA in embedded systems.
  • Hands-on testing of analog front-end circuits and sensors.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes and digital test equipment.
  • Ability to perform signal integrity tests on high-speed interfaces.
  • Capability to debug using schematics and datasheets.
  • Ability to estimate power and analyze thermal performance.
  • Experience with system-level integration tests including hardware & cables.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulatory testing (ESD/EMI/EFT).
  • Experience with BLE testing and spectrum/network analyzers.
  • Strong documentation of procedures, results, and issues.
  • Willingness to travel to MR testing sites.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain test methods for MRI-compatible hardware.
  • Able to analyze and debug mixed-signal PCA in embedded battery OS.
  • Perform signal integrity tests on I2C/SPI/UART/QSPI/USB/SWD with analyzers.
  • Deep dive into schematics, datasheets, and layouts for debugging.
  • Conduct power and thermal analyses at the board level.
  • Execute system-level integration testing including mechanical and sensors.
  • Coordinate regulatory testing (ESD/EMI/EFT) and BLE verification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for system tests and evaluations.
  • Document test procedures, results, and issues clearly.

Job description

Job Description

The Electrical HW Test Engineer will be a member of the Product Development staff and be involved in the design, development, and maintenance of new MRI compatible products.

  • Able to analyze and debug mixed signal PCA in embedded battery operating systems.
  • Familiar with low-level analog front-end signal measurement, including amplifiers, filters, sensors, and ADC, using an oscilloscope with a single probe and/or differential probe.
  • Able to perform signal integrity tests on common high-speed digital interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, UART, QSPI, USB, SWD, etc) using a logic analyzer.
  • Able to deep dive into the schematics, datasheet, and layout for debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Able to perform power estimation and thermal analysis on a board level.
  • Able to perform system-level integration testing including mechanical model, battery, cables, sensor, charger, etc.
  • Experience with various medical industry regulatory testing, including ESD, EMI, EFT, etc.
  • Experience with BLE device testing and familiarity with spectrum and network analyzers.
  • Able to effectively collaborate with the cross-functional team to perform system-level tests and evaluations.
  • Proficient in documenting test procedures, results, and issues.
  • Able to travel to the Clevland MR site to conduct MR-related testing.
Desirable
  • Class 2 or Class 3 medical device development experience.
  • Understanding of global regulatory requirements for medical devices.
  • LEAN/Six Sigma certification or experience.
  • Experience in the field of Medical Devices product design e.g. CT, MR, X-Ray, Mammography systems etc. will be an added advantage
  • Exposure to International Medical Quality and Regulatory Standards e.g. IEC, FDA, UL, CE is a plus
