Job summary

Wavelynx Technologies, LLC. is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer in Colorado to design, develop, and test hardware for access control readers and controllers.

You will join a small hardware team, own projects, and work through architecture to production release across RF, power, digital, and PCB layout. You will collaborate with firmware, product, manufacturing, and validation teams, travel 5–20 days/year, and contribute to DFX and production testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field is required.
• 3+ years of embedded hardware development with ownership from design to production.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools.
• Knowledge of microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex-M) and interfaces (Ethernet, RS-485, I2C, SPI, UART).
• Understanding of power supply design (buck/boost, LDO).
• Experience with RF/wireless (BLE, NFC, RFID).
• Hands-on with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers.
• Able to work independently and communicate across firmware, product, and manufacturing teams.
• Willing to travel domestically and internationally (5–20 days/yr).
• Familiarity with Altium Designer and general design-for-manufacturing concepts.

Responsibilities

• Create schematics and PCB layouts, select components based on cost, lifecycle, and supply risk.
• Simulate and analyze circuits to verify designs before and after layout.
• Tune antennas and characterize RF performance for 125 kHz, 13.56 MHz HF, and BLE.
• Bring up prototypes and characterize power rails and digital interfaces.
• Run environmental tests and EMC/ESD pre-compliance scans.
• Write design documentation, test reports, and troubleshooting guides.
• Support production at PCBA CMs by reviewing build reports and resolving defects.
• Assist manufacturing, firmware, validation on DFX, test fixtures, security validation, and interoperability testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues in production and in the field.
