Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Hardware Design Engineer in Costa Mesa, CA for a 6-month, 100% onsite contract. The role focuses on designing and improving PCB-based hardware, with emphasis on schematic capture, layout, and debugging.

You will develop analog and power electronics, work with Altium or Cadence tools, and own the hardware design from concept through production. U.S. citizenship required.

Job description

Rate Range: $79/hour to $89/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Electrical Hardware Design Engineer

• Design and improve PCB-based electrical hardware, including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout, board bring-up, debugging, and design revisions.
• Develop analog and power electronics involving sensors, op amps, MOSFETs, buck/boost converters, motor drivers, solenoid drivers, and low-to-moderate power circuits.
• Troubleshoot hardware and perform root cause analysis on field, manufacturing, and validation failures, then implement and verify corrective design changes.
• Support the complete hardware lifecycle from requirements and architecture through design, verification, qualification, production, and field support.
• Work with Altium Designer or similar PCB tools such as Cadence, OrCAD, or Mentor Graphics, while supporting microcontrollers and interfaces such as I2C and SPI.
• U.S. citizenship required. 6-month contract, 100% onsite in Costa Mesa, CA. Strong communication, collaboration, and hands-on hardware design ownership are essential.
