Fort Myer Construction Corporation is seeking an Electrical Groundsman to assist with installations and repairs in the DMV area. This role includes working with the Electrical Journeyman on various tasks, from line maintenance to safe operation of utilities and equipment. Successful candidates will have a strong work ethic, safety consciousness, and a high school diploma.

Summary: The Electrical Groundsman is responsible for helping the Electrical Journeyman with overhead and underground installations and repairs. Duties and Responsibilities: •
Assist the Electrical Journeyman is the various aspects of line maintenance, repair and construction, •
Prepare and assemble various line apparatus required for particular work being performed, •
Keep work areas clean and organized, •
Assist with washing and maintaining equipment in proper working order, •
Install both aerial and underground line apparatus, digging holes, padding ditches, operating utility vehicles, •
Assist with loading of various materials onto trucks and/any and all other duties assigned by line supervisor, •
Must be able to operate utility truck, lift truck and all auxiliary equipment, •
Clear brush and prepare holds for utility poles, pad ditches, •
Assemble conduit and place in trench, •
Work in bucket truck to complete necessary tasks, •
Must be knowledgeable with the materials needed and process to strip and terminate underground cables, •
Must wear proper attire at all times including PPE, •
May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends, •
Additional duties as assigned Job Requirements: •
High school diploma or equivalent, •
Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, •
Work at various heights above ground for extended periods of time, and can be hazardous due to falls, and/or working on or near energized electric lines and equipment, •
in a manner consistent with the essential job functions, •
Must have reliable transportation, •
Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic helping others, •
Ability to multitask and stay organized different work environments, •
Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions, •
Ability to work on smooth or uneven surfaces and under varying climatic conditions, •
Must be safety conscious at all times, •
Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening. Working Conditions: •
This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist. In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet regularly and use hands, arms, and legs repeatedly on the job, •
This job requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time, •
This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts), •
Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, or other extreme inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time, •
