Job summary

Rocket Lab in Mississippi seeks a Ground Systems Engineer I, Electrical to lead design and build-out of a new test facility supporting Archimedes and Neutron programs. You will rely on your electrical design experience to deliver safe, reliable ground systems.

You will work with vendors, coordinate with facilities, and collaborate with engine and vehicle teams to run tests and collect data. On-site work, occasional nights/weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or equivalent disciplines.
• Experience designing, building and operating electrical systems at aerospace test or launch facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design test infrastructure: diagrams, electrical layouts, power, lighting, data acquisition, and instrumentation.
• Specify and procure electrical and computer systems equipment including data acquisition, PLC, and instrumentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and facilities groups to design, purchase, and fabricate key subsystems.
• Collaborate with Rocket Lab test sites to ensure safety and seamless operation of electrical ground systems.
• Work onsite at our test facility for build-out & activation including test procedures and data collection.
• Collaborate with Archimedes engine and Neutron vehicle design teams to prepare and perform tests
