Job summary

GRIDWORKS is seeking an Electrical General Foreman to lead on utility-scale solar projects and direct on-site electrical teams. This role emphasizes hands-on leadership, safety, and code compliance to ensure timely, on-budget installations.

You will coordinate crews, manage materials, and report progress across commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar facilities, with travel as required.

Qualifications

• Electricians license required.
• 3+ years’ experience in solar PV or BESS.
• Demonstrable experience leading groups of associates to the successful completion of solar projects.
• Understanding of residential and commercial circuitry; NEC codes.
• Advanced pipe bending skills up to 2” in size.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site direction and leadership of electricians on commercial, industrial and utility-scale projects.
• Coordinate and leadership of both in-house and outsourced labor teams.
• Management of material deliveries & inventory at the job site.
• Ensure assigned work is completed on schedule and on budget.
• Provide detailed field reporting logs for project superintendents.
• Maintain quality and safety of electrical installations across the site.

With nearly 3 GW of solar and battery energy storage projects, we are well positioned for continued success in the rapidly growing clean energy sector.Summary Description:The Electrical General Foreman is responsible for hands-on performance and leading a team to perform quality work for the company, as well as ensuring jurisdictional and code compliance. This position is responsible for performing duties related to the installation, alteration, repair, replacement and maintenance of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment. Must meet strict daily and weekly project deadlines. Perform tasks independently or as a team under limited supervision.Key Accountabilities:• Assistance as necessary with the planning, preparation, and execution of the construction of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar photovoltaic plants.• Providing on-site direction and leadership of teams of electricians in the performance of the electrical installation activities of commercial, industrial and utility-scale projects.• Coordination and leadership of both in-house and outsourced labor teams• Management of material deliveries & inventory at the job site as needed• Provide detailed field reporting logs for electrical teams to project superintendents• Monitor and maintain desired performance metrics for electrical installation tasks in the field• Convey best-practices from Superintendents, own experience, and Engineering department to field personnel• Assure the quality and consistency of electrical installations throughout the jobsite• Assure assigned work is being completed on schedule and on budgetOther Duties:• Participate in training and meetings• Willingness to perform tasks other than electrical and DC side work• Other duties as assignedSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:• Supervision of Electricians on jobsiteWORK ENVIRONMENT:• Fast-paced and ever-changing environment.• Ability to work in extreme environments, cold, winter weather, hot sun• Able to work in confined spaces, and atticsPhysical Demands• Stand for long periods of time.• Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.• Bend or twist their body.• Repeat the same movements.• Climb ladders, scaffolds, or poles.Position Type and Expected Hours of Work• This is a full-time position• Overtime may be requiredTRAVEL:• Willing and able to travel based on the needs of the business.OTHER DUTIES:• As required, please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
