Job summary

Engineering Systems, Inc. (ESi) seeks an Electrical Engineer to contribute to forensic consulting projects in Seattle and surrounding areas. You will assist with field investigations, analyze electrical systems, and prepare technical reports under supervision, ensuring compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards.

The role emphasizes communication, collaboration, and ongoing professional development, with occasional travel to client sites and court-related activities as experience grows.

Qualifications

• 0-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, consulting, or related field.
• Foundational knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and electrical system design.
• Interest in forensic consulting and willingness to develop expertise in litigation support.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with electrical engineering analysis or design software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be available to travel occasionally as part of the national practice.

Responsibilities

• Assists with field investigations of electrical systems, equipment failures, and related electrical engineering matters.
• Performs engineering analysis under supervision and applies knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA).
• Assists in the preparation of high-quality technical reports.
• Supports deposition and trial preparation; may provide testimony as experience develops.
• Assists in conducting client presentations.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical support and gather information.
• Seeks technical advice and guidance from more experienced consultants.
• Participates in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Supports Business Development activities as appropriate.
