Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Foreman to plan, coordinate, and supervise commercial electrical installations under project management.

This role leads journeymen and apprentices, ensuring NEC standards, productivity, and deadlines, with availability for overnight shifts and travel. Candidates may be licensed or unlicensed; California Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Six+ years as a commercial electrical journeyman with at least two years as foreman, preferably in retail construction.
• California Journeyman Electrician certification preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• Strong English literacy to communicate with management via email/phone.
• Willingness to work nights or travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the commercial production by journeymen and apprentices.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, or plans and lay out work for crews.
• Conduct toolbox talks and training for apprentices and journeymen.
• Install commercial electrical equipment and fixtures.
• Install conduit, raceway, and cable tray systems.
• Lead projects ensuring NEC standards, productivity, and deadlines.
• Collaborate with project management and safety teams on progress.
• Maintain quality of journeyman installation and jobsite safety.

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman to plan, coordinate, and supervise commercial electrical installations under the direction of project management. This is a Working Foreman role responsible for leading journeymen and apprentices while ensuring work meets NEC standards, productivity goals, and project deadlines. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Foreman with a strong background in retail electrical construction. Candidates may be either licensed or unlicensed; a current California Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred but not required. This position requires schedule flexibility, including overnight shifts and travel assignments.

Scope of work

• Supervise the commercial production of electrical journeyman and apprentices
• Interpret blueprints, schematics or plans and layout work for journeyman and apprentices
• Perform tool-box talks and training to electrical apprentices and/or journeyman
• Install commercial electrical equipment and fixtures
• Install various types of conduit, raceway and cable tray systems
• Experience with refrigeration motor control, Ansul Systems and EMS is preferred
• Knowledge of retail new construction and/or retail tenant improvement projects is desired
• Troubleshoot motor control systems
• May be asked to work in confined spaces
• Perform work from ladders, man lifts and/or during inclement weather
• Communicate with project managers and safety teams regarding jobsite progress
• Demonstrate and enforce quality electrical journeyman installation and jobsite safety

Requirements

• Six or more years of experience as a commercial electrical journeyman with a minimum of two years of foreman experience preferably from retail construction projects
• Current California Journeyman Electrician certification is preferred but not required
• Valid driver license with the ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and a motor vehicle background check
• Strong English literacy skills are required to effectively communicate with management via email, phone
• Must be available to work nights or travel as needed

Salary Description
