Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Electrical Foreman in Indianapolis, IN. The Electrical Foreman is responsible for leading a field team of journeyman electricians and apprentices on commercial projects, ensuring all installations are performed according to design drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive commercial electrical experience, a strong command of the National Electrical Code (NEC), and the leadership skills necessary to manage safety, documentation, and on-site training.

Job Type: Permanent

Annual Salary: $83,200 to $115,544 Annually BOE

Licenses/Certifications Required:

  • Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise job site teams of journeymen, electricians, and apprentices to ensure efficient project completion.
  • Install service wiring, conduits, fixtures, and electrical devices on commercial projects according to design drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets or exceeds the current National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
  • Complete thorough documentation of work performed, including daily reporting, look-aheads, and progress updates.
  • Conduct weekly toolbox talks and maintain strict compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company PPE programs.
  • Bend conduit by hand and operate power tools, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as trenchers, backhoes, and mechanical personnel lifts in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, maps, and technical manuals to guide installation processes.
  • Train and mentor other electricians in applicable procedures, techniques, and safety standards.
  • Work on energized circuits and equipment when authorized by management and outlined in the health and safety program.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a focus on commercial project environments.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Foreman or supervisory role leading electrical crews.
  • Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and general construction processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Experience operating company trucks with both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Proficiency with two-handed tools, cable cutters, hammer drills, and jackhammers.
  • Ability to identify wire colors and accurately troubleshoot electrical systems.
  • Ownership of hand tools necessary for commercial electrical work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 51 pounds and wear a tool belt weighing approximately 30 pounds.
  • Ability to work at various heights up to 90 feet from ladders, scaffolds, and aerial lifts.
  • Must be able to work in restricted areas including manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, and attics.
  • Capacity to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, and perform overhead work for full-day shifts.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to climb and relocate all types of ladders, including step ladders up to 14 feet, independently.
  • Willingness to use construction site sanitary facilities and work in dusty or loud environments.
  • Ability to work 8-hour days, 40 hours per week, with availability for overtime and night shifts.

Pay Transparency:

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $83,200 to $115,544 annually, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
